Hey June! Monday, 1st Jun 2015 15:27 by Editor It would seem that Blackpool fans fall in to three categories at the moment. The first are checking the internet and phones every few minutes to see if there's any news of a managerial appointment at Bloomfield Road. The second are interested but adamant that it won't make a difference whilst the Oyston's are in charge. Then you have the third who couldn't give a rat's ass because until the owners leave, there is no Blackpool FC to support. Whilst acknowledging the third group of supporters, it would be a pretty meaningless website for Seasiders fans that didn't show at least a passing interest in who the next foolhardy man was to take up the poison chalice. The second set of supporters have every right to think the new manager stands no chance after the recent failures of the Chairman to back previous incumbents and then finally we have the first set of fans - naive, fantasists or gluttons for punishment, they are waiting with baited breath news of the appointment. So, in the meantime, let's satisfy their appetite for curiosity and ponder what June could bring us. Many think that Jose Riga didn't come along until late in to the summer of 2014. In fact, it was the 3rd June 2014 that Riga agreed a deal to become manager of Blackpool, and was set to start the following week. The following day, Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston confirmed that there was a verbal agreement in place. On 11 June, Riga was confirmed as Blackpool's new manager. Three weeks later, newspaper reports claimed that Riga was unsettled and ready to quit Blackpool. Eventually late July and Riga started to appoint some players. So whilst it's concerning that no manager is in place, the more important announcements will be when we get players at the club. With most not out of contract until the end of this month and with the players not due back to training until the end of June, the important thing will be to get bodies in for that first pre-season training session - something which most of those involved say, the lack of, was the reason we were relegated last season. So whilst we sit and wait for news of the manager, there will be little to cheer one way or the other at the name that's announced. The real reason for cheer, or despair, will be when players start to arrive .. or maybe that should be 'if' rather than a when. Expect, or hope for, an eventful June .. unless of course you don't give a rat's ass! Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
