Another crap week in the life of Blackpool FC Friday, 29th May 2015 18:40 by Editor You'd like to think in the crap world of Blackpool FC that one day we will finally hit rock bottom and things may start to improve. There have been many false dawns from the last minute escape from relegation at Wigan to the appointment of Jose Riga but each have proved little more than minor blips. In fact, if anything, those moments when you think we're finally on the up are worse than when we get slapped in the face with another piece of bad news - it's the hope that kills you! This week we've had Preston North End promoted, Darren O'Dea saying we're no better than a pub team (and he didn't even apologise to pub teams for making the comparison), Jose Cubero finding a get out clause in his contract, the whole 'mystery buyer' saga and still no news of who the next poor sod walking in to the manager's office is going to be. The election of Pope's doesn't take this long. If it goes on much longer it'll be black smoke rising above Bloomfield Road and not white smoke (for younger readers white smoke from the Vatican is what you see when a Pope has been chosen). So have we got any closer to working out who the new man is. You get the feeling it won't be Ian Holloway. If Ollie was 'the chosen one' (again) then you feel it would have been signed, sealed and delivered by now with a tic-a-tape parade through the streets of Blackpool welcoming him back with open arms (although the Tangerine Knights may have gone down the pub instead!). Richie Kyle's name has been mentioned but you feel his inexperience means he won't be ready yet but could well be suggested as part of a new management team. The only other names mentioned this week have somewhat alarmingly been Graham Westley and Neil McDonald. If Karl thinks that by repeating Preston's path back to the Championship includes employing one of their most hated managers ever, then he may well go down that ill advised route! So that leaves Neil McDonald as the only name which seems to be banded about - the connection to Lee Clark and Sam Allardyce may well mean he'll spend the weekend asking the former Blackpool bosses what they think - which means we'll be back to Square One on Monday. Once again Karl has quashed any enthusiasm, excitement or interest in who the new manager will be but then he's becoming a master of killing any interest in events at the club.
