A good run out for the team against St. Mirren who are currently mid-table in the Scottish Premiership.

Here's a match report:

Blackpool played out a goalless draw with St Mirren at Bloomfield Road.

The Seasiders almost took an early lead as a smart, quick free kick found Kenny Dougall who lofted the ball through to Shayne Lavery who couldn’t convert.

The visitors had a chance of their own as Toyosi Olusanya beat the offside trap and looked to round Dan Grimshaw but the Seasiders keeper stood tall to time his interception well and stem the chance.

A well worked move up the other end eventually found Lavery out wide and his lofted cross to the back post found the head of Gary Madine who looped over the bar.

Blackpool continued to work the ball with patience but opted for a more direct approach into Madine who knocked down for Sonny Carey who struck his volley sweetly but just over the bar.

Olusanya remained the main threat for the visitors striking over the bar from range with Grimshaw happy to watch the effort sail over.

HT: Blackpool 0-0 St Mirren

Blackpool had the ball in the back of the net after Gary Madine’s free header from a Charlie Patino corner but James Husband was penalised for a foul in the area on his marker in the build-up.

On as a sub, Andy Lyons progressed into the area and picked up the ball after a deflected Madine header to strike at goal, but it was well saved by the St Mirren stopper.

Ian Poveda was the next change to make an impact with his stepovers deceiving the opposition defence before playing Sonny Carey in with his effort turned away for a corner.

The visitors continued to look lively themselves but an eventual effort from a flowing move by Fraser Taylor was calmly held by Grimshaw.

Blackpool put together another fine attacking move together with the ball shifted wide to CJ Hamilton with Poveda’s effort was eventually cleared off the line.

FT: Blackpool 0-0 St Mirren

Blackpool XI: Grimshaw; Connolly, Williams, Husband, Thompson; Dougall, Patino, Carey; Lavery, Madine, Yates

Subs used: Lyons, Garbutt, Hamilton, Poveda, Wright

Will Tuesday's reserve game be purely for development squad players???????
