I don't think Spurs at home was his last game so I won't say Brett.

I'll go for Bamber. He had 2 spells with us that were well spaced apart. Therefore possible.

Think there was something like 15 - 16 years between Brett's first and last games.

Still thinking, but I might guess at when I was a kid, my neighbour's all time favourite player.

I`m going to guess at an oldie - Billy Ronson, son of the more famous Percy...

If we haven't got it, there are more clues needed Vernat.

Not fair if the answer is a player outside living memory.

Danny Coid?

Spell, I'm sure you said your first season ticket was for the 1936 - 37 season.

No, not Coid.

I had a look at the 1998 squad and it's a trick question.

I wouldn't have known the answer otherwise.

Another clue. He's a nobber - both born and played for.

Why is it a trick question, Spell??

Because in his second spell with us, he didn't make any 'official' appearances.

It's possible that second time round he may have only made an appearance as a trialist in a friendly - and scored in this game - and we didn't continue with him after the trial was over.

Another clue to the identity of this player. The instuctor who helped me pass my first aid certificate was this players coach in junior football.

I hope I'm not wrong BTW.

Adam Nowland made his Pool debut on Saturday 19 September 1998, coming off the bench to score the only goal in a victory against Luton Town.
He left in 2001 to move to Wimbledon and subsequently played for West Ham, Gillingham, Forest, PNE and Notts County.
in August 2009 he returned to Pool on a non-contract basis scoring in a 2-1 victory in a League Cup first round tie at Crewe. Later that week he was released.
Where is the trick in that?

Bugger.

Good one, totally forgot he'd returned for a second very short spell.

I wouldn't have got it if I hadn't consulted the net for the 1998 squad.

Even then, I probably would've forgotten about Nowland if it wasn't for my first aid badge.
